Job Description   SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

This position provides complex administrative services and support and creates non-routine information and/or documentation for the Senior Trade Commissioner and the International Business Development (IBD) section as a whole.

1. Provides complex administrative support and services:

Scheduling support for the Senior Trade Commissioner (STC)
Support to the STC and IBD section as a whole for special, complex and large events/visits
Support to STC in monitoring IBD and Client Service Fund (CSF) budgets
Update Trade Commissioner Services websites with Israel-specific information
Acts as a liaison for approved contracts between IBD team members and the MAO to ensure that administrative processes are consistently followed

2. Provide and create non-routine information and documentation:

Supporting the STC on overseeing, preparation and delivery of annual Israel IBD Commercial Economic Plan (CEP)
Track and report on the IBD budget; analyzes variances from the budget plan and recommend reallocation if necessary
Assess and identify urgent items for the attention of the section’s team

3. Directly support program objectives and goals of the IBD program:

Participating in trade exhibitions, innovation workshops and investment promotion events
Research current economic and commercial issues and trends, including innovation-related, to keep IBD officers informed and current.


Provide assistance to IBD officers for reports including research, proofreading, maintaining distribution lists and filing system
Provide logistical and other support for visits of Ministers and other officials and company representatives


Failure to meet any of the essential requirements eliminated candidates from further consideration in the competition.
Candidates must demonstrate clearly how they meet Essential Requirements listed below:

Education: Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in a related field

Language Requirement: Fluency in Hebrew, English and French (spoken and written).


Candidates who meet the Essential Requirements will be assessed on the following qualifications. The assessment may be a written test, an interview, an in-basket exercise, a skills test, or any combination of these methods.


1. of the Israeli market and its economic, industrial and business infrastructure, key players, marketing methods, distribution channels and regional business practices:
2. Government priorities; export and innovation capabilities, client issues and concerns, familiarity with local opportunities and contacts in the non-priority sector
3. of the Trade Commissioner Service (TCS), including the core values of the TCS
4. of international marketing, business operations including an appreciation for global supply chain management of budgeting
5. of computer software (Word, Excel, spreadsheets, databases, Internet, Outlook, etc.);


1. Effective oral and written communications skills in Arabic;
2. Previous work experience in an international or trade organization/association
3. Experience in basic financial management;
4. General technical inclination and interest in office IT systems (no formal degree required)
5. Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint
